Bryson, The Alien is new to Portland. The Ohio-bred college graduate landed in Portland about a year ago, and has been working the underground scene with his brand of light-hearted lyricism and trippy creativity.
His album hVil mVry (pronounced Hail Mary) provides a view of Portland from the perspective of a young creative from the Midwest, and his second video from the project certainly pushes the creativity. Shot on an iPhone 6s, Bryson uses a “visceral swirl” of a eye-popping color and spacey effects to really focus on the concept of The Alien, while making the point that anyone can make their own videos.
