In the wake of last night’s shooting in NE Portland’s famously gentrified Alberta Arts District, Portland Police arrested two young adults who appear to not have been involved.

Loren “Glenn Waco” Ware and Marcus Cooper were reportedly booked last night for Harrassment, Interfering With A Peace Officer, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. Witnesses from the scene report that the pair pulled one of the 3 shooting victims from the sidewalk into a nearby Don Pancho’s and kept him safe till the ambulance arrived. There is confusion as to why the pair were arrested, and a photo has surfaced showing the pair backed against a car with their hands up.

ChargesGlenn Waco made waves over the winter with his involvement in the Don’t Shoot PDX movement, and recently headlined a wildly successful Hip-Hop show at the Holocene at which he invited members of the Black Panther Party and Nation of Islam to take the stage with him.

The latest from the grapevine indicates that Glenn has been released and awaits a 2pm court appearance, but that Marcus is still in custody.
