If you’re anything like me, you entertain a dozen or so options for New Year’s Eve and actually lock in plans the day before, because LET’S BE HONEST, nobody knows what’s going to pop off a week in advance. I spend a good amount of time talking to folks that throw parties and such and even still, I’m not 100% solid with my plans yet. I’m on a 3 year NYE winning streak though, and 4 is my lucky number, so maybe I’m just over-thinking it.

Anyway, I figured that I’d put up a quick to-do list of some choice 21+ destinations for this Wednesday in PDX. Sorry, everyone else. If you’re mad, let me know and I’ll direct your complaint to the WOHMer closest to you. Or come to Portland. Party like a rockstar.

1) The Rhapsody (Hosted by Damian Lillard) @ The Gerding Theatre at the Armory

Tucked away in the Pearl, it’s hard to argue with Portland having (arguably) the NBA’s brightest star host a New Year’s Eve party. Portland needs more things like this. Featuring DJ Gemo, this is not for the meek of pocket with tickets coming out to $135 a pop. But if you ballin’…

Rhapsody

2) Moroccan Midnight w/ Dubblife

One of Portland’s Finest, DJ Dubblife will be dropping nothing but cuts at a Moroccan themed event in the heart of downtown. Bottle, table and cabana services are available at an event that offers “something different” at an unexpected location. You’ll probably run into some WOHMers here.

3) DJ Maseo (of De La Soul) @ White Owl Social Club

Boasting a wild line up that includes Maseo, Slimkid3, DJ Juggernaut and Ronin Roc, I can’t imagine you’ll find a better line-up in the Town. I went to White Owl last year and it was ON. Hard to bet against a large indoor/outdoor venue like this. Expect the spot to reach capacity.

4) SundaePDX presents New Years Eve @ The Pub At The End Of The Universe

Did somebody say FREE with NO DRESS CODE??? Whoa! Only out in SE Portland could such a thing take place, and taking place it is. True School Portland mainstays DJ Wicked and DJ Ozroc team with DJ Budget for a party hosted by Rocket One. I don’t think they are serving ice cream this time, but I hear complimentary bubbly is on the menu.

5) NYE Black And White Ball @ Service

Wanna get faded in a really great creative space with a bunch of cool, artsy folks? LA’s DJ Josh Peace teams with PDX’s DJ Rafael to work an ethereal New Years affair complete with dance competitions, multiple hosts, and some musical performances. Boasting a variety of sponsors including Stoli Vodka and Slim Goods, part of the proceeds go toward the Cascade AIDS Project, so you can party with a conscious.
