I have a clear bias for Portland rapper Manny Monday as we live in the same city, graduated from the same high school (Grant) and attended the same college (Morehouse). That, however, has nothing to do with the #SoarLoser’s recent success. From the wildly popular release of OG Shit, to the ensuing scandal with the beat (much of which was discussed in our February interview), to the success of Wimbledon, Manny has kept himself relevant – even finding his name pegged on wax by other rappers as someone worthy of respect.
The album, WORKAHOLIX, lives up to the hype. Diverse and fun, Manny capitalizes on solid trap production from Stewart Villain who scaped the vast majority of the tracks on the album. Perfect soundtrack to your ride in tomorrow after a 3-4 day weekend.
