In case you haven’t heard, Portland Public School teachers met last night at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and overwhelmingly voted to approved a strike that will begin February 20th if demands are not met. Nicole Dungca covered the why’s and who’s very well for The Oregonian, but that’s not what I’m here to talk about.

One thing I remember from going to high school in Portland is that the students are almost ALWAYS behind the teachers, and that says a lot. Whether the students agree and empathize with the teachers who want smaller class sizes and get paid very little for the amount of work they do or they just want a few days off, kids tend to side with their instructors when the beef is with brass.

And who can blame them? My kids have been bugging me for 6 months to watch the Khaki Dance video. I finally watched it and it’s hilarious. The teachers were fielding complaints from kids who were tired of wearing uniforms and… well, the kids got over it when they saw this. Say yes to the teachers. To them, I dedicate this week’s #ThrowbackThursday.

Sometimes, you need something silly on a snowy day. *raises hot chocolate*
