The Villain gets it in. Whether he’s making beats, rapping, DJing or just being the resident cool kid, the young one-stop shop of Portland hip-hop is always finding ways to push his sound to new audiences. And well he should.

I mean just a couple of weeks ago, I watched Stewie wow a crowd in Salem by crafting a trap beat live in the middle of his DJ set. A talented producer with production credits for a variety of artists like Sean Price, Cassow, Kurupt, Yuckmouth and Danny Brown, it’s pretty hard to find a beat of his you won’t like.

Yesterday, his beat Crush was featured on the Pitchfork.tv series Selector, where Brooklyn rap group The Underachievers had to make a choice between Crush and Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth’s Drudgy Shit. Check it out below!
