It was a good day for PropaneLV of Portland (and frequent writer here at WOHM!). A video he made doing a cover for Drake and 2Chainz’ track No Lie was picked up by one of the biggest hip hop blogs in the nation, WorldStarHipHop.com.

More than just a hip hop site, WorldStar also regularly posts videos of bums, crackheads, schoolyard fights and strippers. (Swerve.)

The site brought PropaneLV exposure from a lot of people who would have otherwise never heard his name. After being posted Monday morning, the video had 167,000 views on WorldStar as of 10pm Monday evening with generally positive reviews (especially judging by WorldStar standards).

A good look for the charming young emcee. We had a chance to catch up with him.

How was your day?

Haha, man it was pretty good. Is that part of the interview?

Yes. As is this. So…Did you know the video for your 2 Chainz/Drake cover was going up on Worldstar?

No I didn’t. I was shoveling a bunch of gravel at work and checked my twitter and I thought I was getting spammed. I saw a Worldstar link in there and was like wtf? So I called Colin and he was like “!!!!!” and later told me he submitted it to them 20 minutes earlier.

Good look man. You have almost three times as many views as the new Fabolous video. Do you think that means you have more money than he does also?

I’m trying to think of a funny response, but Val keeps rambling about other people to me. Damn it, no, but if chicks think I have money I’m cool with that. I have like 17 dollars right now.

What were some of your favorite responses to the video you saw on Twitter or Worldstar?

Everything on Twitter was positive, a lot of thirst which is always welcomed and encouraged.

I checked 2 pages on Worldstar and my favorite was “I SHOULD SMACK THE BITCH OUT OF THAT BOY.” That dude was right on.

LOL! I think that might have been me actually. I didn’t recognize that it was you at first. My bad.

Hahaha. Damn it! You’re easily the funniest person I know.

Haha, swag. Thanks. Just don’t watch Louie, because that’s where I get all my jokes. I saw 2 Chainz’ manager and Warren G hit you up on Twitter also. Did you reach out to them?

Yeah, 2 Chainz’ manager asked for a few tracks and a press kit. Warren and I weren’t speaking the same language for some reason, and I have no idea where that is right now. He dm’d me a few times asking if I was the rapper or manager.

Hopefully Warren will read this and figure it out.

Hahaha

Where did the idea to do covers come from? Seems like they have been successful, even before the Worldstar post.

Colin, he bothered me for a few weeks to do them and I really wasn’t into it. I said I’d do the first one just to get him off my back, and it did so well I was like okay I can roll with this. More than anything they’ve been helping me develop and try new things.

Any new tracks on the way?

Yeah, Idk when I’ll put anything out though. I’ve always thought I needed a buzz before I dropped a mixtape or CD. I’m working on both right now, but at this point I have nothing planned. I’m shooting two videos in Dallas at the end of the week for original songs, but I haven’t planned a release.

Did you see an increase in your other YouTube videos today?

Man, I’ve been following back some bad bitches today, and no. From my understanding YouTube typically takes three days to show dramatic increases. Hoping to get some butt pics soon.

Gotcha. Shout out to the bad ladies. Any DM love today?

Just from some people that have been rocking with me for a while, saying congrats. But I’ll keep you posted.

Any final thoughts?

Don’t be surprised if I sell out.
