“Love life, don’t waste another night/Stage dive, jump like you can fly” – Sol

If you are into love, sex and marijuana smoke, Sol may soon become your favorite rapper.

His new album, Your’s Truly, hit #1 on the iTunes Hip-Hop Charts and #73 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Album Charts after being released last week. The video for his song 2020 reached over 100,000 views in under two weeks, and his album release party in Seattle sold out Neumos last weekend.

“It’s been a blessing. I worked on the album for a long time. It’s just a reminder to keep working hard and that hard work pays off.” He continued, “I have a really strong team of close friends that I work with. I give my producers a huge amount of credit for how the album sounds. We’re in the studio working on these songs together. People are in there giving input on songs that they didn’t even produce, and playing instruments on songs they didn’t produce.”

Born and raised in Seattle, Sol is 23-years-old and a University of Washington Graduate.

He’s also earned the nickname “The Prince of Seattle”.

Best Place for Breakfast

This is a tie between the Sunlight Cafe and Continental Breakfast on the Ave.

The Sunlight Cafe is a vegan/vegetarian breakfast cafe, and they also have a really good happy hour. I’m not a vegetarian, but I like tasty food and its good when its healthy. I like to go with their Sunlight Juaves Rancheros or the Black Bean Burrito.

Continental Breakfast on the Ave is a  Greek Breakfast Spot. I always get their French toast, but they have really good scramble and omelets. I never show up at breakfast time, but since my boy is the cook he hooks it up. The Continental Breakfast is where I go with my parents when they are in town.

Best Place for Dinner

If its late afternoon I would hit Paseo, a cuban sandwich spot. They have the best Cuban sandwiches I’ve ever had. Probably the best bang for your buck as far as food in Seattle. Get their grilled pork sandwich. It’s the original legendary sandwich and what they’re known for. If you eat pork, it’s the best pork you’ll have in Seattle. I always get the rice and beans. It’s as close as it gets to my mom’s cooking.

I also like Pam’s Kitchen. It’s Caribbean style place, and a fantastic dinner.

I like their Curried Chicken Roti. They have a Sorrel Rum that is really good. They also make this drink called Mauby that is made with boiled tree bark and sugar. It’s a really interesting drink.

Probably the best dinner in Seattle. Moderately priced for how nice it is. Great place to take a date. Really cool people that work there.

Best Place to Smoke Spliff

Carkeek Park, I’ve never really ventured into the park itself, but up at the top there are a couple benches where you have the best view of downtown Seattle from the north. It’s a really nice place to hang out at night. If it’s the summer day you can lay out, and have a picnic. I’ve never done that, but I’m sure some people have.

But there are so many places in Seattle. It’s just a great place to smoke.

Best Place to Grab a Drink

My favorite place to drink get a drink is A’Pizza Mart. It’s on University Way. It is really cool place. They have good service, good cheap slices of pizza, pour good drinks, and play a lot of good local hip hop. One of the studios I work at is close to there so I head there when I’m in the area.

Best Place to Take/Meet a Girl

I often meet and take girls to concerts. I think a concert is a good place for a first date. I probably go to 3-4 concerts a week, it’s just a huge part of my life. Compared to dinner and a movie, I would rather go to dinner and a concert. There’s always something going on, so it’s never awkward.

Neumos and Showbox at the Market are both amazing venues. They always have a really good and intimate environment. Especially when they are sold out.

Best Place to Have Sex in Public

I definitely, probably have hooked up the most in a car at Gas Works Park, but I like my own bed a lot. I spent a lot of money on my mattress. I don’t indulge in much too much PDA to be honest. But back in high school when the spot got too hot, and the parents were home…
