Dice,

Thanks for inviting me out as a guest last week to your first public Hip Hop Kitchen. I had a blast.

All of the food was amazing. I’m sure I will have a full car of people with me coming from Oregon for the next one. Let me know what We Out Here Magazine can do to help; it was a great event. Also, next time I will have to remember to put a plate aside to take home with me.

It was great being introduced to so many members of the community and reconnecting with others. The night was positive throughout. The good food and music catered perfectly to the night’s casual vibe.

Good job putting the lineup together as well. Your performance was great and Xperience is one of my favorites. I think Xperience’s performances are particularly special because going to one of his shows is the only way to listen to his music. Hopefully someday someone will approach him with a plan to allow a more widespread distribution of his music than performing live. *fingers crossed*

I wasn’t familiar with the bay area’s Willie Joe before the show, but his energy is contagious and stage presence is phenomenal. I have been yelling, “Monta Ellis” in people’s ears all week. I’m generally not a fan of people performing with vocals on their tracks, but he definitely killed it.

The cypher at the end was also dope to watch; however, I think in the future JFK shouldn’t be allowed to participate. There is probably nobody I would rather watch murder a cypher than JFK, but having him involved in a cypher is kind of like bringing LaMarcus Aldridge to a pickup game at the park. It’s not fair for the others participating. He just dunks on everyone.

I didn’t get home until six in the morning, and had a meeting at ten, but it was definitely worth it.

I think Luck One said it best while hosting, “These are the type of innovative events that makes Seattle’s hip hop scene so special.”

Thanks again! I can’t wait for next time.
