I first heard about Aaron Moiel aka HalfManHalf’s project with PRTLND Monster in the Flesh, Calvin Valentine(G_Force) on Twitter a while ago. I’m a fan of anything that has G’s touch on it, and I’d heard about Half through his touring with Sapient.
I reached out to Half and G to see if they’d take a few minutes to sit down with weouthere.net and tell us about GLOW; Half’s first true solo record with G on the beats. Instead, G played a bunch of CRAZY upcoming music and I asked them questions from this random game. Hope you enjoy their answers as much as I did:
What’s the best kind of Sushi roll?
HMH: I don’t eat sushi.
CV: Yeah, me neither really. Well, I do, but I would probably just be a typical white person and say California Roll.
HMH: Yeah, I don’t eat seafood. I only eat Macaroni and cheese.
CV: But that’s a great question though.
Okay, if you could do one extremely dangerous activity without the risk of dying or pain, what would you do?
HMH: I think it be cool to burn alive and walk around.
CV: Power Orgy.
Would you rather go a week without bathing, but you can change clothes, or go a week with the same fit, but you can take showers?
CV: Oh, shower for sure.
HMH: Yeah, definitely shower. Could I use the hippie rock though?
If you could ask a person from history any question and they had to answer it truthfully, who would you choose?
HMH: Jesus
CV: I would ask Dilla what he did on the D’Angelo project. I’ve always wanted to know that; ‘cuz he didn’t get any production credit.
HMH: Man, Jesus sounds so bad next to that.
Do you think you could live, for a month, in a beautiful spot, everything’s provided for you, but you don’t see or come into contact with any other people?
CV: Could it be a studio?
Yeah, for sure, if that’s what you’d want.
CV: Then, easy. I’d walk around naked the whole time. Just naked raps for days.
HMH: Yeah, I’m working on it right now. Haha.
What’s your most indispensible piece of musical equipment?
HMH: My computer.
CV: My brain.
What should the Blazers do about Greg Oden?
CV: Chop off his legs and feed him to the dogs.
*laughs*
HMH: Yeah, I can’t top that. I’m not really even sure why he’s being brought up right now.
