Writer’s Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in writing for We Out Here Magazine. We cover all of Northwest Lifestyle, featuring editorials and personal stories relevant to the people living in Oregon, Washington and surrounding states. We aim to excite our readers about people and ideas coming out of the Northwest and enjoy working with up-and-coming writers.

We look for work that is intimate, relaxed, and conversational. We encourage our writers to display their personalities and thoughts in their articles. It is your article, so let the people know who you are.

Because WOHM is available exclusively online, we ask that editorials remain under 1200 words and features are kept under 2000 words (although there are exceptions to this rule). We also ask that you send only your final draft. Our editorial staff is very limited at this time, and we do not always have time to spend editing each article submitted.

If you have a story you think would work well in our publication, please send an email with your story pitch and a relevant work sample to submit@weouthere.net. If you are not able to submit work samples as an MS Word or TXT file, please include the submission in plain text in the body of your email. (Submitting two or three work samples is plenty.)

If this is your first time submitting to us, please tell us about yourself and your background as a writer, and include your cell number.

We try to respond to all inquiries within two weeks. If you have not heard back from us this time period, please assume we have decided to not use your idea or submission.

We Out Here Magazine is not currently able to pay for submissions.
