Following a successful release party last Thursday, St Johns duo Neka & Kahlo officially released their EP, 7hirdwav3, in the wee hours of the morning. YES. It’s finally here.
Only the couple’s first project, it’s everything you’ve been waiting for. Maybe more. Just a couple of years ago, we didn’t even know if Kahlo was going to live. With Neka by her side, she is showing us just how much they do just that. It’s as if the music houses the sense of urgency and appreciation for life they’ve developed together. More than an album, it’s a love story, and a great one. Easily my favorite project out. Period.
And this is my first time hearing the full project; in that way, I’m just like everyone else. I may have a new favorite in Progress Trap. What do you think?
